Our Values
Mission Statement
Access to Zen (A2Z) warmly welcomes all folks interested in finding a community based on awareness and accessing our fundamental joy. We aspire to make Zen teachings and practices accessible to everyone through weekly drop-in meditation and Dharma talks, opportunities for in-depth study and discussion, periodic retreats, and a supportive sangha (community). Rev. Keiryu Liên Shutt serves as our Guiding Teacher.

Inclusivity Vow
A2Z vows to actively be engaged in activities and initiatives that make real our aspiration to dissolve barriers that separate us from each other so all feel welcomed, seen and heard. This commitment to multiculturalism and inclusivity is grounded in our vow to do no harm and our understanding that one’s own liberation is ultimately tied to the liberation of all beings.
We acknowledge biases, prejudices, behaviors and societal structures that favor or harm individuals and people because of race, class, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability, political party, religious commitment or other beliefs and positions. We recognize the responsibility to welcome and affirm all who come here in search of freedom from habits that cause suffering and will work toward respectful acceptance of others across our many differences.
