The “Four Heavenly Qualities” are Buddhist teachings which can offer us ways to be with ourselves and others with mindfulness and ease.
Metta, or maitri, is the first of these qualities. Often translated as “lovingkindness,” “goodwill” or “unconditional friendliness,” these qualities are practiced through guided meditations to helps us to access this heart-mind state when we most need it.
This half-day will present teachings on this quality. However, the bulk of the day will be actually practicing the meditations, which activates and brings forth these feelings for ourselves and for others.
